instagram

Hey guys!
It´s my Birthday today! Can´t wait to spend it with my family.
In December I decided to hop on the Apple bandwagon and get an Iphone  (maybe also due to peer pressure as most of my friends had all gotten one and having so much fun with their instagram, foursquare and all the different apps...so I got a little curious to see what all the fuss was about) . I got and older model, the 3S and I am very pleased, the phone has served me well and I think it´s just as nice as the newer models (that I have gotten to try for myself). Anyways I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my first snapshots from Instagram. I´m hooked!

Christmas time

Hey guys
I can´t believe it´s already Christmas today.
The whole month of December just seems to have flown by me in the blink of an eye and I don´t feel that I have been able to do all the things I normally do before Christmas. Those little things that have been like a ritual to me since childhood in the weeks leading up to Christmas.  I guess that is a part of growing up, as we get older we have more responsibilities and therefore less time for those things. Still I feel that it is so important to try and hold on to these little habits and traditions, traditions that remind us of Christmas as a child, like watching exactly the same Christmas movies (with a few new additions of course!) that I did 10 years ago, drinking hot chocolate ( with the addition of coffee) and walking around town taking in the atmosphere the night before Christmas Eve (this time being allowed to stay up late). I think the best Christmas traditions are when you are able to fuse together childhood memories and grown up reality. Although I may not love Christmas with the same childish wonderment as I did before it is still my favorite time of year. Getting to spend time with family and friends, eat good food together and commemorate those dear to us that are no longer here.
I stubbornly stayed up until 4 am last night baking, just so that  I could bake something before Christmas rolled around, to uphold my Christmas traditions. I have such great memories of Christmases past and I can´t wait to make some more with my beautiful family.

Happy Christmas everyone!!!
and thank so much for reading the blog

Beauty!!

Hey guys,

I absolutely adore these beautiful embellished boots from Topshop, although they are quite impractical for the icelandic winter weather ( it started snowing today). Still I think they have made it to my Christmas wishlist.

Have a great weekend!

Simple things

I can´t believe it´s already December!
Incredible how time has flown by.  Here in Reykjavík we have the most perfect Christmas weather! White snow  that covers every surface and a lot of people have already put up Christmas lights. Downtown Reykjavík looks so beautiful  with lights everywhere and I can´t help but to get in a little bit of a Christmas- y mood.

Simple things making me happy this week :

  • Knowing that after Christmas finals comes Christmas vacation.  The last couple of weeks have been completely crazy with school assignments.  I am so happy that this is finally almost over. I can´t wait until I´ve finished my exams and have time to enjoy the holiday season. In my family we have tons of little traditions and little things we do together in December, that make the Christmas season extra special.

  • Rediscovering my wardrobe  I am a bit of a shopaholic,  therefore I have a lot of clothes that tend to get "lost" in my closet. I love going through my closet and rediscovering things that I haven´t worn in a while and scoring a "new" outfit.

  • Hot chocolate  Winter being the perfect  time to snuggle up with a cup of something warm I have become a little obessed with trying different variations to the classic hot chocolate. peppermint cocoa anyone?

  • The Christmas fleamarket on Saturday at Hitt Húsið from 13 - 16. So for my Icelandic readers: be there! It should be fun

Have good weekend everyone
