prima ballerina

I have always loved ballet, ever since I was little.
It is such a beautiful art form. I even had a go at it my self (when I was very young). Not only is the the dancing itself pretty but I also really like the outfits that go along with it. The tulle skirts, the ballet shoes, the beautiful hairdos, the colors. It´s just beautiful. Since I didn´t have the patience to stick it out with ballet  I have decided to focus on ballet inspired clothing. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw some of the looks from the Topshop Unique AW13 runway. These looks scream ballerina. They also scream my name.

And here are a few (more budget friendly) ballet inspired finds from around the internet...

Tulle skirt from ASOS

Really pretty shoes....can´t remeber where I found them....

.....but these heeled ballerinas from Topshop  are also really pretty

Ballet wrap dress from ASOS

Have a great day!

weekend dressing : feeling blue

Hey guys,
I am so happy this week is over and so ready to have a cosy relaxing family weekend.
This is my fantasy weekend outfit.  I think the earrings are so pretty and they match the beautiful wide leg pants ( I looove wide leg pants). I would keep everything else neutral to allow the blue color to pop so the white top and grey sweater are great. Finally I would top it off with a cool hat and some basic black pumps.

Have a great weekend!

New Years outfit

Hey guys,
I had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you did too! Delicious food, Christmas movies and tons of chocolate. Now the fun is not over yet since New Years Eve is less than a week away! I´m so excited since New Years Eve is my all time favorite holiday. Now of course I have found the perfect party outfit to ring in the new year, but just for fun I put together my dream outfit for next weeks festivities.

These three items would make a great New years eve outfit - paired with bright fuschia pink lipstick and some fancy hair accessories!

you can find the pants here, the jacket here and the shoes here

Have a great day

Beauty!!

Hey guys,

I absolutely adore these beautiful embellished boots from Topshop, although they are quite impractical for the icelandic winter weather ( it started snowing today). Still I think they have made it to my Christmas wishlist.

Have a great weekend!

Belt it!

Hi guys
I had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you did too.
I absolutely  love belts and I wear them with absolutely everything: over  skirts, sweaters and dresses... A couple weeks ago I had a cozy lazy evening with my family, good food and good television which ended with a little imaginary shopping online. Checked ASOS and realized, that in addition to stocking beautiful clothes and shoes they have amazing accessories and especially belts. Here are some pretty ones I found:

Love love love this last one, and the multi buckle belt!  Maybe I´ll add them to my birthday  wish list.

Simple things

Life is crazy right now, one month left of school and the assignments and projects keep stacking up. Here are a few things making  me happy this week and helping me keep sane:

Candles
tons and tons of candles

I´ve become just a little obsessed with scented candles, and I love the candles from Annick Goutal, a more affordable version of their  luxurious perfumes. Also to me, candles are a very important winter staple to brighten up dark and cosy evenings.

Frida Kahlo

I am doing a school project on her.  She is such an inspiration and her story is amazing , she lived a life filled with passion and suffering. I am amazed at her strength, her passion for life and her colourful character. One of the most fun school related writing I have done in a long time.

El día de los muertos

The mexican equivalent to Halloween. To be honest I find the Día de los muertos  much more interresting, because of what the tradition stands for. The mexicans throw a three day  festival  to commemorate the dead and celebrate life. I can imagine it could be fun to be a tourist in Mexico during el día de los muertos, think that´s something I would like to do.

My black, leopard  print collar coat

My best loved wardrobe item right now. Wear it everyday and it makes simple pants and a sweater feel so fancy! Mine is a bit different from the picture, a vintage coat I got for a bargain last spring. The collar comes a bit further down ( kind of like the lining has been turned up into a collar) no pouf at the shoulders and it has a bit more of an A line skirt to it

James Vincent McMorrow

His voice is amazing! I especially like his song We don´t eat. I love songs that feel like a big warm blanket and this is one of them.
