So Iceland Airwaves 2012 is officially over (have to say I am a little bummed out, this year´s festival passed too quickly). I had so much fun, happy I got to see some of my favourite artists perform as well as discovering a few new favourites. This is the third time I have attended the festival and I haven´t been dissapointed yet. Definitely going next year!!

All in all it has been a great weekend - and the cherry on top is this wonderful coat from H&M my parents got me from their trip to Boston. I love the black and blue faux fur collar. Been wearing it everyday since I got it.

Airwaves! My Airwaves checklist

Hi guys!

so yesterday was the first day of Iceland Airwaves, I had so much fun!!! I wanted to share with you my

musthaves for the festival weekend:

 

 

 

comfy shoes (and pretty)  

Really love these shoes from ASOS. Made to be worn during a music festival like this. And if I wear impractical shoes I make sure to at least pack some ballet flats.

 

 

 

 

a cross body bag

 

 



 This one is great for various events - as you can both use it as a clutch and then it has a shoulder strap to be worn as a cross body bag. And it is roomy enough to hold all the essentials.

 

Warm cover ups

 



I will be wearing my faux fur all weekend long, but of course I will also need some gloves to keep warm like these suede ones from Friis and company.

Airwaves

Hey guys!

Airwaves is less than one week away!!  Starting to feel the butterflies in my stomach. This is (almost) better than Christmas.  What I love about his festival is that you get to discover new icelandic bands (or bands you didn´t know about yet) as well as all the great foreign artists that participate. 1860 is one of my must see bands this year. They are an icelandic band and their songs give me the chills everytime I listen to them. For those of you that don´t have a bracelet to the festival,  check out the Iceland Airwaves off venue program, I think they will be playing a couple of venues.

 

 

I would love to get some comments from you guys, are any of you going to Airwaves? what are your must see artists?

Weekend

 Hey guys,

It´s finally Friday!!!

Have had a busy week - no classes but my schedule has been packed to the brim with  group meetings for school assignements and as much reading as I can manage as I am a little bit behind with the course reading. I am looking forward to a lovely, relaxing weekend with family before the next crazy school week starts. Here´s what Im going to do :

  

 

Bake

This weekend I am going to attempt to find the time to make these adorable mini cheesecakes. I got the recipe from one of my favourite food blogger, Eva. She is icelandic and has such a passion for food which shines through the blog. All the recipes are in icelandic ( but you can probably use  google translate if you want to make these)

 Theatre

It has been a tradition of the women in my family to regularly go to the theatre. This Saturday I am going with my mom and sister to ther theatre to see a play called Á sama tíma að ári ( Same time next year). So excited!

 

Airwaves

Having some fun planning my airwaves schedule, here is my playlist with must see bands .... I just need to start planning my outfits - only three weeks to go !!!

 

 

Winter  cleaning 

Cleaning out my closet these days - will be selling a lot of stuff at the Bakkus fleamarket which starts at 14:00 this Saturday!

Airwaves´12 : Daughter

Hi guys,
It´s 22 days until Airwaves and the countdown continues:
I really want to see  Daughter during the festival. Elena Tonra is Daugther. I love her mellow, soothing sound and the songs are so beautifully haunting or as the Iceland Airwaves website says: "She talks about unrequited love, lost hope and death… in the prettiest way imaginable."

 

 

Daughter is playing at 21.30 at Fríkirkjan Saturday the 3rd of November

Airwaves

Hey guys,

My favourite event of the year is coming up!
 Iceland Airwaves starts in less than a month, October 31st to the 4th of November the streets of Reykjavík will once again be filled with music lovers, artists, photographers and journalists alike.I really love the unique atmosphere the festival brings with it. To me this is (almost) more exciting than Christmas. Last year I did a countdown, a series of posts where I introduced you guys to some interesting artists coming to play at the festival. I am going to try to do something similar this year.
The first artist that I really look forward to seeing live is native Ásgeir Trausti. He is twenty year old and sings in icelandic.Ásgeir is quite knew to the scene here in Iceland, if I remember correctly he was discovered just last winter and already he has become wildly popular among Icelanders. His first album was released in september and sold out very quickly. He is a must see for me at the festival because I really enjoy his soothing, calm voice and  his songs are very beautiful. Here below is one of  his song Dýrð í dauðaþögn (Glory in silence). Make sure you also check out my favourite song,  Leyndarmál.
