Happiness

Hey hey, 

Today, March 20th has been declared International happiness day by the United Nations. This is the world´s first international happiness day. I think this is such a wonderful idea. There are so many difficult things in life, and the world media almost exclusively brings us news of the horrible, sad things that are happening around the world. Therefor it is wonderful to be able to take a moment and even better to have a whole day to focus on the good things. The things that make us happy. 

Happiness to me is in the little things. The silver linings. You can always draw something positive out of every situation. Even if it is just something very small. I just have to believe it. 

so to honor this day, here are a few things making me happy these days....

......   The end of winter. It is such an amazing feeling being up at 8 am and the sun is already up. which leads me to the next one..

....being finally able to use sunglasses, not only do they shield my eyes from the sun but I somehow feel instantly more beautiful when I wear them.

.... floral dresses. 

......My wonderful friends. Meeting up for lunch or coffee instantly makes an ordinary day feel special. 

.......thoughts of summer. Having something to look forward to can bring you happiness. I look forward to summer. To the end of the school year. I look forward to long summer days. And I really look forward to my vacation in Greece and seeing my family in France. And that makes me happy.

Weekend dressing

Hey guys, 

It really feels like spring is around the corner here in Iceland. The weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer and everything just seems brighter! I´ve put together this outfit with that in mind as this is to me the perfect spring outfit. The knit and knee high boots are perfect for  keeping out  the pre spring chill. I really love the print of the dress and the white coat tones perfectly with the white in the dress. Would love to wear this outfit for a weekend stroll or some coffee!

Oscars 2013

Hi guys, 

Watching the Oscars is probably one of my favorite television events of the year. Last year I put together a list of my favorite dresses from the Oscars ceremony and I thought it would be fun to do it again this year!

I really loved Anne Hathaway´s beautiful  Prada dress. The back detail is so beautiful. Anne herself described the dress as "Business in the front, party in the back"

Anne´s costar, the wonderful Amanda Seyfried looked amazing as well in her Alexander McQueen dress. 

One of the highlights of the evening for me was 

Jennifer Aniston´s dream of a red dress. So beautiful. 

Nicole Kidman also looked amazing in her sequin dress

I really loved Salma Hayek´s beautiful dress....

... but Amy Adams dreamy gown was definitely one of my favorites. Such a romantic dress. 

And last but not least was Olivia Munn´s beautiful red dress. The gold embroidery makes it look very theatrical.

The absolute highlight for me was when the cast of Les Misérables got on stage to sing ( I am a huge Les Mis fan). How amazing do Anne and Amanda look in their dresses?

Hi guys,

I really love icelandic design. There are so many talented designers here doing amazing things. One of my favorites is the designer Eyglo. I already have one item by her, this dress from the summer collection. I really love what she does but I especially like the AW12 collection, there are so many wonderful items and original patterns. Right now I have a massive crush on this dress!

So lovely and I absolutely love the wave pattern and the net panels on the side. Better start saving up for this one!

topshop lust list

Hi guys,

 

Like I have mentioned I seriously love love love Topshop. Unfortunatly their website doesn´t ship to little Iceland. Fortunatly I have an amazing friend that lives in Denmark and she lets me send my orders to her. As a result I have been spending quite some time "window" shopping these past few weeks. Here are a couple of things that made it to the top of my list. As you can probably tell by these items I am really into gothic details at the moment:  if it is made of velvet, mesh, lace or has crosses on it - count me in!
